Office Reliance is hosting the Garden Route's only Joomla based web design training course. The next one is scheduled for 23 - 25 March, 2009.

"Joomla is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone."

The course is broken down into three sections, and is presented over two full days of training and one day of practical. Once the student has completed the course he/she will be able to create and maintain Joomla based websites with confidence.

The course is aimed at beginners and does not require any knowledge of HTML or other programming languages.
We will be using Joomla to build our websites and once the course is completed you will be able to build a website from scratch, using nothing but free open-source tools.

During the  first two days we cover all the instruction and learning part as to how to create websites. On the third day you come back with all your photos and content and we spend the day building your very own website, which you take with you at the end of the day.

During the course we will be using the Bitnami Joomla installation. This will allow us to work on our training PCs and to easily copy the websites we create to other computers.

• Must have Joomla add-ons
• Tips & tricks

We will provide a printed manual with step by step instructions as well as CD containing all the software used on the course. This will include the Joomla installer allowing you to create your own website on your own PC.

The course will run from 9 am to 4 pm each day, and will include catered tea breaks as well as a hot lunch.
